dc.description.abstract-enIn an increasingly diverse and interconnected world, education must rise to the challenge of shaping citizens who are capable of living together in plurality. Inclusion and interculturality stand as fundamental pillars for building equitable societies in which every individual regardless of origin, identity, or abilities has the opportunity to learn and flourish within environments that recognize and value their uniqueness. With this goal in mind, Classrooms without borders emerges as an innovative pedagogical proposal that integrates the narrative power of comics with the principles of inclusive and intercultural education. This work is part of the International Teacher Training Programme on Innovative Practice (ITP), an initiative funded by VLIR-UOS and led by PXL University of Applied Sciences and Arts (Belgium) in strategic partnership with Technical University of the North (Ecuador), Jimma University (Ethiopia), North-West University (South Africa), and Royal University of Phnom Penh (Cambodia). Within this interinstitutional and transnational synergy, the Technical University of the North has taken the initiative to create a comic-based book aimed at fostering awareness, training, and dialogue around diversity and inclusion in contemporary educational contexts. Comics, with their unique combination of text and image, are presented here as a didactic resource accessible to varied learning styles and cultural expressions. They generate emotional connections, foster empathy, stimulate critical thinking, and facilitate reflection on the complex realities that inhabit our classrooms. Through visual stories and graphic narratives, this book addresses the challenges faced by students and teachers in multicultural contexts, offering innovative perspectives and creative solutions aimed at promoting equity and the participation of all educational actors. Each chapter of Classrooms without borders: Education, inclusion and diversity through comics explores themes related to integration, discrimination, the construction of collaborative environments, and the visibility of ancestral knowledge. The work goes beyond theoretical exposition; it integrates reflective questions, examples of real-life experiences, student-created comic stories, and a conceptual glossary that facilitates comprehension and application of the content. These graphic narratives enrich the material, promote experiential, creative, and meaningful learning, and demonstrate the potential of comics as an inclusive and culturally responsive educational tool.es_EC
