| es_EC |

| dc.description.abstract-en | Introduction:At present, diabetes is a chronic and very frequent disease that requires permanent treatment and control, therefore, presenting adequate therapeutic adherence is essential to avoid complications in the patient and achieve appropriate metabolic control. Objective:To relate the level of pharmacological adherence with the values of glycosylated hemoglobin in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus at the General Hospital IESS -Ibarra -Ecuador -2022. Materials and Methods:Quantitative, non-experimental, analytical design of a cross-sectional cohort study. in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus who attended the endocrinology outpatient clinic of the selected hospital unit, during the period from August to November 2022. Results:Different pharmacologicaladherences were determined in the research analysis group, discharge with 47, 3%, medium with 31.1% and low with 25.2%, values that present a significant relationship according to the results of glycosylated hemoglobin (Hb1Ac) obtained (p <0.001), which prove to be adequate in 37 % and inadequate in 63%, proportions that varied according to the time of evolution of diabetes (p <0.001) Conclusion:In adult male diabetic patients they have a lower adherence to treatment, where a statistically significant relationship is demonstrated between the variables pharmacological adherence and glycosylated hemoglobin of the studied population. | es_EC |
