| Abstract: | La atención al riesgo nutricional y al patrón alimentario de adultos mayores en residencias geriátricas privadas ha ganado relevancia debido al envejecimiento global de la población. Este grupo se considera vulnerable, enfrentando desafíos de salud y sociales significativos. El objetivo de este estudio descriptivo con corte transversal fue identificar el riesgo nutricional y los patrones dietéticos en adultos mayores de Centros Geriátricos Privados de Ibarra en 2023. Mientras que el método se utilizó el Mini Nutritional Assessment (MNA) y encuestas sobre dieta y datos sociodemográficos, analizando 123 encuestas con el programa Jamovi. Los resultados destacan que las características dietéticas influyen en el riesgo nutricional, incluyendo textura, olor y sabor de los alimentos. En conclusión, este estudio subraya la importancia de considerar las dietas en centros geriátricos como determinantes del riesgo nutricional en adultos mayores, enfatizando la necesidad de promover dietas saludables y adaptadas a sus necesidades. |
| metadata.dc.description.abstract-en: | Attention to the nutritional risk and dietary patterns of older adults in private nursing homes has gained relevance due to the global aging of the population. This group is considered vulnerable, and facing significant health and social challenges. The objective of this descriptive cross-sectional study was to identify nutritional risk and dietary patterns in older adults in private geriatric centers in Ibarra in 2023. The Mini Nutritional Assessment (MNA) and surveys on diet and sociodemographic data were used, analyzing 123 surveys with the Jamovi program. The results highlight that dietary characteristics influence nutritional risk, including food texture, odor and taste. In conclusion, this study underlines the importance of considering diets in geriatric centers as determinants of nutritional risk in older adults, emphasizing the need to promote healthy diets adapted to their needs. |
