| es_EC |

| dc.description.abstract-en | The recognition of the risk of contracting HIV, as well as the probability of suffering fromor contracting this disease, leads to a positive transformation of one of the health problems that has not yet been resolved. An observational, quantitative, quasiexperimental and educational intervention study was carried out, by intentional random sampling, with 146 students from the Universidad Técnica del Norte, willing to participate and remain in the institution during the research period. The same, was carried out with the objective of modifying knowledge about the risk of HIV infection, in this selected vulnerable group, from previous studies, it was possible to verify the lack of knowledge in aspects related to the predominance of ages, 17-23 years, typical of this educational level, without signicant differences by sex, 55% of women between 18-20 years, men with less frequency of participants, represented the 28%. 70.8% reported information about the disease, which was positively modied at the end of the study in 100.0% of this group. 41% of the participants identied unprotected sexual relations as the main risk, and the same percentage obtained information on the subject from their Internet access, which was worrying because this source is not always safe. It was concluded, with signicant variations in knowledge about the risk of HIV infection in university students | es_EC |
