| dc.description.abstract | Según la OMS, en el 2018 las Enfermedades No Transmisibles (ENT) acabaron con la vida de 41 millones de personas, de las que 15 millones fueron muertes “prematuras” (30 a 70 años); en el Ecuador, las ENT ocupan las cinco primeras causas de mortalidad, a pesar de ser prevenibles. En este estudio se determinó el Patrón alimentario y hábitos de vida como factores predisponentes a enfermedades cardiovasculares (ECV) en una muestra de 49 adolescentes y 241 adultos de Chalguayacu – Imbabura. En base a las Metodologías para Estudios del Consumo de Alimentos de María Teresa Menchú, el método STEPwise de la OMS para la vigilancia de los factores de riesgo de las enfermedades crónicas y la Encuesta Nacional de Salud y Nutrición (ENSANUT – ECU – 2012), se estructuró y aplicó una encuesta cuyos resultados destacaron un consumo diario de: aceite vegetal, arroz, pan blanco, jugos de frutas, azúcar y sal. En la frecuencia de 2 a 4 días/semana se identificó la mayoría de los otros alimentos, entre ellos; leche entera, queso de comida, huevos, carnes, pollo, leguminosas, verduras y hortalizas, fideo, plátanos, papas, café y té. Los adultos percibieron la calidad de su dieta como regular y para los adolescentes fue buena. Se concluye que el Patrón de consumo y los hábitos alimentarios no representan riesgo para ECV, pero sí el consumo de bebidas alcohólicas, teniendo un riesgo del 24,49% en adolescentes y un 57,21% en adultos; la inactividad física, 95,99% en toda la muestra, es otro factor de riesgo a considerar. | es_EC |

| dc.description.abstract-en | According to the WHO, in 2018, Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) killed 41 million people, of which 15 million were “premature” deaths (30 to 70 years); In Ecuador, NCDs occupy the top five causes of mortality, despite being preventable. In this study, the dietary pattern and lifestyle habits were determined as predisposing factors to cardiovascular diseases (CVD) in a sample of 49 adolescents and 241 adults from Chalguayacu - Imbabura. Based on María Teresa Menchú’s Methodologies for Food Consumption Studies, the WHO STEPwise method for monitoring risk factors for chronic diseases, and the National Health and Nutrition Survey (ENSANUT - ECU - 2012), a survey was structured and applied, the results of which highlighted a daily consumption of: vegetable oil, rice, white bread, fruit juices, sugar, and salt. At the frequency of 2 to 4 days/week, most of the other foods were identified, Including: whole milk, regular cheese, eggs, meat, chicken, legumes, greens and vegetables, noodles, bananas, potatoes, coffee, and tea. The adults perceived the quality of their diet as regular, and for the teenagers, it was good. It is concluded that the pattern of consumption and eating habits do not represent a risk for CVD, but the consumption of alcoholic beverages does, having a risk of 24.49% in adolescents and 57.21% in adults; physical inactivity, 95.99% in the entire sample, is another risk factor to consider. | es_EC |
