| dc.description.abstract | Las semillas de Chionanthus pubescens Kunth y C. virginicus presentan doble latencia, lo que representa un problema para su reproducción sexual, dado que impide que alcancen tasas adecuadas de germinación. Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo aplicar tratamientos pregerminativos para superar la doble latencia en semillas de C. pubescens y C. virginicus, así como mejorar tanto la velocidad de germinación como la cantidad de plántulas obtenidas. Se aplicó un diseño completamente aleatorizado, con cuatro tratamientos para cada especie (remojo de semillas en agua fría, remojo de semillas en agua caliente, escarificación mecánica y control) y tres repeticiones. Para C. pubescens, el tratamiento pregerminativo con mejores resultados fue la escarificación mecánica, con una capacidad germinativa del 39,22 %; mientras que, para C. virginicus, el mejor tratamiento fue el remojo de semillas en agua caliente (49,00 %). | es_EC |

A completely randomized design was applied, with four treatments for each species (soaking seeds in cold water, soaking seeds in hot water, mechanical scarification and control) and three replications. For C. pubescens, the pre-germinative treatment with the best results was mechanical scarification, with a 39.22 % germinative capacity; while, for C. virginicus, the best treatment was soaking seeds in hot water (49.00 %). | es_EC |
