dc.description.abstractLa percepción social de la salud y la definición construida en torno a esta ha venido cambiando a lo largo del tiempo como reflejo de los valores imperantes en las diferentes etapas de la evolución humana y del desarrollo de la ciencia, demandando respuestas igualmente dinámicas por parte del derecho para su garantía y protección. A partir del siglo XX –dada su importancia para la calidad de vida y la dignidad de las personas– la salud es protegida a través del sistema internacional de los derechos humanos, estando ambos afectados por el desarrollo de las tecnologías de la información y comunicación alcanzado por la sociedad contemporánea. La investigación consiste en una reflexión académica sobre el tema desde una perspectiva multidisciplinar, a la luz de la definición de salud elaborada en la postmodernidad y de los riesgos que la amenazan en la era digital.es_EC

dc.description.abstract-enThe social perception of health and the definition built around it has been changing over time as a reflection of the prevailing values in the different stages of human evolution and the development of science, demanding equally dynamic responses from the right for its guarantee and protection. Since the twentieth century –on account of its importance for the quality of life and dignity of people– health is protected through the international human rights system, both being affected by the development of information and communication technologies reached by contemporary society. The research consists in an academic reflection on the subject from a multidisciplinary perspective, in the light of the definition of health developed in postmodernity and of the risks that threaten it in the digital age.es_EC
