dc.description.abstractThis present research project was carried out to analyze how the Montessori method contributes to the development of the speaking skills of the English Language in Fourth-Grade students at Cotacachi High School in the academic period 2022-2023. The theoretical framework focused on pedagogical application, teaching materials, the role of the teacher and the teaching of the English language. Consequently, this project has a qualitative approach in terms of behaviours, characteristics, and qualities, among others, and quantitatively based on the statical part, descriptive and correlational, under the socio-educational modality that corresponds to applied research since it is based on real data, and bibliographic, being field research. The techniques used in this research were an interview with teachers and a survey and checklist of students to determine the method contributes to the development of students’ speaking skills in the English language. In conclusion, after analyzing and interpreting the results, the Montessori method helps the child to be independent and learn the English language and determined the importance of improving speech. Based on these results obtained, it is proposed to develop a guide of activities of the Montessori Method and the different materials to be used in English class.es_EC
